Grant Writing 101

Led by our CEO, Dr. Dawn Digrius Smith, this hands-on module provides

key strategies for researching and writing grant proposals.

Participants will create a roadmap and action plan for proposal development, including effective narrative design, integration of data, and references to support research questions and outcomes.

Continuous Quality Improvement

Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) is an iterative process that allows for relevant and timely program improvement. Its three-part cycle (assessment/plan/improve) provides a sustainable process for organizations to assess needs, develop SMART goals, implement a data-driven intervention, and reflect upon the outcomes.

Led by Dr. Melissa MacDonald, this self-guided module will provide an overview of the CQI process, including hands-on activities designed to build participant knowledge of how to craft assessments, SMART goals, and action plans.

Measuring Impacts Using Data

Assessment data, on its own, does not lead to improvement. Assessment efforts often fail because they focus more on collecting data than on understanding the structures, financial factors, policies, cultural factors, etc...that have created the current state-of-affairs.

In this self-guided module, Dr. Ginna Myers and Dr. Dawn Smith explore obstacles to data-informed improvement using case studies and hands-on activities designed to facilitate better collection, management, use, and storage of data.
